Sometimes you want to bring in the tough on the players head coach to crack the whip because you feel the team deserves it. If they run out a similar roster next season this whole team could implode. The thing I hate most about a coaching change is when you get a couple players throwing the old coach under the bus, saying that nobody really knew what was going on and then how everything makes sense now. I don't know if they're lobbying for ice time or what, but it's a show I've seen so many times as players pretend they have nothing to do with the last coach getting fired.

Come on, guys! Glen Sathers of the Oilers in the 80s has to be in the conversation at least as one of the greatest cup-winning coaches, albeit there were Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Anderson, etc. Sathers still needed to have the smart to put the team togehter, as he was also a GM.

I think it’s unfair to even say Babcock name in this conversation, not to mention Carlyle and Wilson…. Berube is well respected by players and coaches all over the league, Blues fans can’t wait to give him an ovation when he returns to their arena for a game. He is a legit coach coming into Toronto, asking questions on air and answering them yourself is just weird from the loud guy.

Stop making up excuses for why the bruins have lost. There isn't some grand conspiracy against them. The bruins are just as dirty as any other team and they had just as many calls made in their favor. If you have to rely on the refs to win a game then you don't deserve to win.

Blues fan here: What you hear about Berube is true. He was lived here in St Louis and a lot of people wanted Army gone after they left him go. He is a great coach. However, my worry if i was a Leaf's fan is not is he as good as people think. But instead will the higher ups left him coach his style and allow him to hold players accountable...the core four. If they ..higher ups...tie his hands and dont let him call the players out ..then it wont matter what coach you have. Shanny and the higher ups just remind me a bit to much of Jerry Jones. They want to control way to many aspects and not allow thier staff to do their jobs

I’m glad Leon is getting more love from people. Early on it was so much about how he wasn’t that great and it was McDavid making him good, but you watch the game and it’s just not the case.

As a Blues fan, we love Chief. Just think....if Berube brings a Cup to Toronto, that will be two franchises with 50 plus year droughts with Cups under Berube. Time to see if he can do that.

Blues fan here: Berube is a great hire for the Leafs. He’s direct and he holds players accountable. His coaching in the Blues cup run was incredible and he’s a coach Blues fans didn’t want to see leave. To your point, he’s a great motivator.

Damn this was a really negative segment. Lots of assumptions and misconceptions. Berube isn’t a hardass. He just demands accountability and doesn’t bullshit you when you don’t have it, unlike Babcock who played mind games. He is a motivator but he’s not a slack-jawed idiot that ignores the tactics of the game. He studied a lot under Ken Hitchcock and knows the “x’s and o’s” of the game. He employs a very relentless defensive system. Yes his Blues became mediocre but they were contending for the President’s Trophy in their title defence year before Bouwmeester was forced to retire due to health and COVID stopped the world. As for the “no coach has won Cups with multiple teams” stat well then I guess you guys should just abandon all Leafs coverage since it’s not going to happen statistically. The Rangers can also throw in the towel since Laviolette has already won a Cup. And not for nothing, but Treliving quit the Flames, he wasn’t fired. You’re right that the Leafs GM search was too short and laser-focused on one guy, but Treliving wasn’t fired.
